This tutorial deals with the process involved in using iChat as your twitter client and uses PSI for the same. Twitter is a micro blogging platform and the blogs are referred to as twits. I am writing this tutorial as it has been requested so many times in so many forums. Please follow the steps very carefully and you will see yourself through very easily.
- Download the PSI for OS X from the link here. It is a 17.9 MB Disk image.

- Start PSI by clicking on the trident logo and OS X would ask you if you want to open the program you have downloaded from Internet. If you have not yet figured out you are supposed to click Yes. Now PSI may ask you to Setup an account by giving it a name as on my Macbook or it may simply head over to the server setup window as it happened on my Macbook Pro ( yeah it actually happened ).
- Either case enter the desired name and the server you wish to connect to. A good server for example is njs.netlab.cz due to its stability.

- Next select the username and the password you want, then click “OK”, your jabber account has been created.

- Now right click in your PSI window on your account-name and select Status to Online to connect to the server.

- Once again right click on the account-name and select Service Discovery to find the window shown below.

- Click on twitter.jabbim.com or Twitter Transport Beta and Select “register” and enter you Twitter login and password.
- Now go to iChat preference and click on the Account tab. Click on the + to create a new account for your Jabber account by selecting Jabber in the new account pop down window. Enter the credentials that you had entered to register with njs.netlab.cz. In my case it was applechipmunk@njs.netlab.cz and my password entered in Step 7.

- That is it, you are good to go. Enable Growl notification if you want to be informed about every update that is coming your way.
- To Tweet a friend of yours double click on his name in the iChat Twitter Contact list and Type, if you want to post a Tweet, you have to double click on a contact named home@twitter.jabbim.com and write a message.
- Enjoy twittering with your iChat. In case of a query simply post your query here and we will try to solve it as soon as we can.

It‘s quite in here! Why not leave a response?
